【What is the Family Childcare Service Center】
As the demand for professional childminders among double-income families in modern society grows substantially and parents rely on childcare services and resources more than ever, the Taipei City Government officially established the Family Childcare Service Center (originally the Community Childminder System) in 2009, and the Social and Family Affairs Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare (originally the Ministry of the Interior) has been promoting the establishment of family childcare service centers by city and county governments since 2001. The plan is to use these resources as the foundation to build a community-oriented childcare service network and a high-quality, professional family childcare service model.

【Family Childcare Providers (or Childminders) Registration】
Pursuant to Article 26 of The Protection of Children and Youths Welfare and Rights Act amended and promulgated on Nov. 30, 2011, in the future “Family childcare services agencies (or childminders) will apply for registration to authorized municipal agencies and county (city) governments before offering their services”, Article 118 of the same Act also stipulates that requirement for said registration shall come into force on Dec. 1, 2014.
